We had some issues with the well-known problem with a KTM 1290 Superduke R; the leaking radiators. The problem is that the original tank brackets only prevent the tank moving up. There is a rubber on the frame which is supposed to prevent the tank from moving down (for example when slamming down after a bad wheelie). However this rubber is not thick enough so the tank has too much freedom. The tank is attached to the radiator trough the side covers, so movement in the tank will be transferred via these side covers to the radiator. This radiator is not really strong and can’t handle these blows. Eventually the aluminum starts to crack and you have a leaking radiator.
We designed a replacement for the original tank mounts. Our mount fully hugs the rubber bushing on the frame and therefor secures the tank from moving up and down! The tank stays firmly in place but is still suspended in rubber.
These mounts are printed solid in PETG filament.
