Challenge
The guys from Smokin’motorcycles wanted to realize a custom exhaust on the same side of the bike as the shaft drive. This way the rear wheel would stay completely visible, something which was quite special on a BMW RnineT. Besides to positioning of the exhaust on the right side, the other challenge was to place two silencers on top off each other, in a place where there was almost no space available at all.
Achievements
The custom exhaust is made out of 304 stainless steel, the front bends are welded out of segments to achieve an industrial look. The balance pipe is placed behind the engine to achieve more torque in the lower rev rate. Both dampers are made by hand on the lathe and milling machine.
